Sturgeon Lake Bible Camp
2 Timothy 2:15
How has COVID-19 affected the camp?
We are currently closed to the public and wait for the government to provide us with information about when we might be able to reopen again.
Is summer camp going ahead?
We are REALLY wanted to run camp this summer. However these are uncertain times and things are changing day to day. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we learn more.
I have registered for camp already, what is the cancellation policy?
Currently Registered: If you have currently registered your camper(s) and we are not able to operate as a result of COVID-19 and government restrictions, your full fees will be fully refunded.
How can I support camp through this difficult time?
Make a Donation: If you are financially able, you may consider turning part or all of your registration fee into a donation for this summer. That will help us to pay off the new dining hall and continue to provide summer camp in the years ahead as we continue to show kids the love of Jesus! Also please continue to pray for us (the board of SLBC) as we navigate the camp through all these unknowns that we would be faithful, wise, and gracious. Most importantly pray that Jesus' Love would make an impact on our world through everything that is going on with Covid-19 and that we would play our part!
2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
The last month for SLBC has been a month of prayer and deliberation. With the ever-shifting climate of Covid-19 and the regulations we must follow it has become clear it is not feasible to run camp for the summer of 2020. It was put into words so succinctly by our current director Brendan New, “camp is the opposite of social distancing”.
Please know this was not a decision based in fear or worry; rather, we desire to be good stewards of the faculty, program and ultimately the souls that God entrusts to us.
So, what does that mean for 2020,
1. Brendan and Caitlyn are still going to be on staff this summer and are excited about ways they are going to connect with you all digitally and possibly in person as opportunities arise.
2.This is going to give us a year to focus on projects and maintenance that needs to be done. Stay tuned for ways you can be involved.
We love and appreciate you all. Thank you all for your ongoing support. We ask that you would continue to support SLBC both through prayer and finances even though the summer program will be much different than usual.
